Update: The SEC Network announced that Cam Sutton will be out for the rest of the afternoon.
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — All-SEC cornerback Cam Sutton went down with a right ankle injury during Ohio’s opening drive Saturday.
With Tennessee up 7-0, Sutton made a diving shoestring tackle on second down, but the cornerback immediately went to the ground and signaled for trainers.
The senior, who has started all 41 games of his Tennessee career, was able to limp off the field with assistance. Later, Sutton was seen receiving treatment on the sideline, including a new tape job.
The No. 15 Volunteers were already shorthanded in the secondary, as No. 2 cornerback Justin Martin (ankle) and nickel-back Malik Foreman (suspension) were both out Saturday.
Freshman Baylen Buchanan, a 3-star prospect from Peachtree Ridge (Ga.) High, replaced Sutton.
