KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — On Tuesday, Florida cornerback Quincy Wilson delivered a metaphorical message for Tennessee.
“Nobody has ever seen a duck pull a truck. Florida Gators are going to win, simple as that,” Wilson said.
The Gators have won 11 straight over the Volunteers and haven’t shied away expressing their confidence in continuing the streak.
During the SEC Teleconference on Wednesday, Volunteers coach Butch Jones said he “hasn’t seen anything” regarding Wilson’s comments.
“I have not really had time,” he added.
“I’ve been bunkered down. I haven’t heard anything or seen anything.”
Tennessee has avoided returning any trash talk this offseason, with Jones saying, “We don’t censor our players, but again we spend a lot of time educating our players on their character and personal brand. Not only do they represent themselves but they represent their institution as well.”
