Tennessee running back Jalen Hurd disappeared toward the end of the Volunteers’ dramatic victory over Georgia on Saturday.
The reason? A lower extremity injury.
As relayed by SEC Country’s Jesse Simonton, Vols coach Butch Jones said the player sustained the injury in the second half of the wild win. Hurd ran for 42 yards on 10 carries, and he had 3 catches for 50 yards and a touchdown. Alvin Kamara led Tennessee with 62 yards on 16 carries.
It will be interesting to see how serious Hurd’s injury turns out to be. Before Saturday, he was held to fewer than 95 yards in a game just once this season, when he had 61 yards on 15 carries against Ohio on Sept. 17.
