Tennessee offensive coordinator Larry Scott reportedly could be a consideration for a head-coaching job in Florida, if it becomes open.
On Sunday, SB Nation’s Steven Godfrey, Bud Elliott, Richard Johnson, Jason Kirk and Alex Kirshner dropped a lengthy report that included many coaching details. Within it, they reported that USF would have interest in Scott, if Charlie Strong were to leave.
Scott, a USF alumnus and former interim coach at Miami, joined Tennessee’s staff before the 2016 season as a tight ends coach. He became the Volunteers’ offensive coordinator this season.
You can see the appeal Scott would have for USF, which is 9-1 this year. Tennessee, meanwhile, is 4-7. The Volunteers lost to LSU, 30-10, on Saturday in Knoxville.
