KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — It’s finally “Football Time in Tennessee,” with the No. 9 ranked Vols kicking off their 2016 SEC championship hopes against upset-minded Appalachian State.
The Mountaineers are Sun Belt Conference members best known for their upset of No. 5-ranked Michigan back in 2007.
Since then, Appalachian State has moved up from the FCS to FBS ranks, and now has 85 players on scholarship.
Tennessee beat writers Mike Griffith and Jesse Simonton discuss the game from Neyland Stadium, where the rain has subsided.
