You can’t believe everything you see or read on the internet. And we have just the scenario to prove it to you, SEC fans.
On Saturday, a Tennessee fan in attendance for the Vols’ SEC East meeting with Missouri at Neyland Stadium made a SnapChat post declaring that he had spotted former Tennessee RB Jalen Hurd sitting in the stands.
And from first glance, many Tennessee fans were buying into the idea that the guy, who does admittedly look a bit like the former Tennessee star, was Hurd keeping watch on his former teammates.
Predictably, the internet immediately lost its cool:
lol Jalen Hurd is literally sitting in the upper deck watching this game, how has CBS not found him yet?

I just saw a photo of what looks like Jalen Hurd in Neyland Stadium, watching from the stands.
Son, you forfeit that right.#Vols

I can't believe Jalen Hurd is at the game. I mean really?

Watch Jalen Hurd try and come back next year.

But Jalen Hurd’s mother was quick to jump in and rule that out, tweeting “not a chance in Hell” to the idea of her son watching the game from the stands:

And just moments later, the person believed to be Jalen Hurd came forward, confirming that the entire thing was a giant misunderstanding.
Sooooo I went to the UT game and someone took a pic of me and thought it was actually Jalen Hurd and now I'm all over Twitter ??

It’s easy to understand how people confused the now famous “Fake Jalen Hurd” for the real one. And one Tennessee fan came to the only logical conclusion to this bizzarre story:
Fake Jalen Hurd is probably better than real Jalen Hurd
