KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Tennessee landed speedy tailback CJ Cotman on Wednesday evening, as the 3-star prospect from Clearwater Central Catholic (Fla.) tweeted his announcement.

The 5-foot-10, 173-pound playmaker runs a 4.46-second 40-yard dash and had 1,258 combined rushing and receiving yards in 2015, scoring 15 touchdowns. He also plays cornerback and returns punts, recording 69 tackles and three interceptions as a junior.
Cotman is likely to play defensive back at Tennessee.
The Florida athlete is ranked 367th nationally, holding offers from 32 schools including Florida State, Alabama, Auburn, Oregon and Florida.

Cotman is the 21st verbal commit in Tennessee’s 2017 recruiting class, now ranked No. 11 nationally — per 247Sports.
Former Miami interim head coach and Vols tight ends coach Larry Scott reportedly played a key role in Cotman’s recruitment.
