Rumors have been flying around Knoxville since the Vols cut ties with Butch Jones on Sunday, and now there’s another name picking up steam: Louisville coach Bobby Petrino.
Petrino’s name was floated by former Georgia coach Jim Donnan on the Paul Finebaum show Friday afternoon:

Petrino has enjoyed a lot of success in two stints at Louisville, but not much outside that program. Still, with Louisville’s athletic department lacking stability and Lamar Jackson almost assuredly headed to the NFL, it wouldn’t be a bad time for Petrino to look around.
For Tennessee, the Vols have lacked the offensive firepower that Petrino offenses always seem to have. His offense would be an interesting fit in the SEC East, a division known mostly for defense and special teams.
