Tennessee has its first signee of the 2016 class.
Defensive tackle Alexis Johnson from Fort Scott (Kansas) junior college has signed his scholarship papers, the school announced on Wednesday. It is the first day that junior college, mid-term enrollees can sign with their prospective teams. The Vols beat out several other schools for the 6-foot-4, 297-pound prospect, including Alabama, Auburn and Florida State.
The Vols are also expecting signed scholarship papers from receiver Jeff George and defensive back Desmond “D.J.” Henderson from Dodge City (Kansas) Community College on Wednesday.
