Peyton Manning earned 14 trips to the Pro Bowl, five AP MVP awards and most of the major passing records during his illustrious NFL career. But to those who knew him, he was also known for his habit of penning handwritten letters.
On Thursday, Gatorade released a commercial that celebrated the career of Manning using his own words. Using letters sent by the quarterback, including one sent to David Cutcliffe, the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach during Manning’s time at Tennessee, Gatorade paid tribute to the future Hall of Famer:
From his brother and father, to Indianapolis Colts equipment manager Jon Scott, there were many recipients of letters from Manning. Even those that didn’t impact his career, like former Penn State coach Joe Paterno, received notes from the former Colts and Denver Broncos quarterback.
