BUFORD, Ga. — Lunden Bailey was already on Tennessee’s radar, but the linebacker said he had more to prove Monday at a satellite camp.
“I’ve always got something to prove,” said Bailey, a Class of 2018 prospect who started for Buford High School last season as a sophomore. “I’m proving it to myself, and I’m proving it to these coaches.
“I love to be out here competing and showing everything I can do.”
The Vols’ staff (sans Butch Jones) was primarily running the camp, along with the complete coaching staffs from N.C. State and Wake Forest.
Bailey, who trains at the U-48 Fitness in Lawrenceville, Ga., had the opportunity to meet the Tennessee staff at the Vols’ camp Saturday, and spent more time with them in Buford two days later.
“I met Coach (Tommy) Thigpen and got really close to him, and I met Coach (Bob) Shoop, and I met the head coach, Butch Jones,” Bailey said. “I really enjoyed him; he invited me to dinner.
“It’s a great program, great facilities; just a first-class organization, (and) something I’d love to be a part of.”
Bailey said he also plans to visit Vanderbilt and attend camp at Clemson this summer.
