Greg McElroy is not a fan of Jalen Hurd’s decision to transfer.
McElroy would go on to call Hurd selfish and a quitter.
To walk out at this time of the season is ridiculous and he’s always going to be he’s forever going to be remember as a quitter when times got tough.
McElroy added that if Tennessee had a better record Hurd would still be on the team.
The former Alabama quarterback also brought up that Hurd seems to be all about the NFL. And while a move like this could get him more reps at another position, he will now have a giant red flag next to his name.
“I can tell you thing, when he’s being evaluated by NFL Draft evaluators and front office personnel, there will be a massive red flag next to his name, knowing that when his team lost three in a row, he decided to walk out on his team. What does that tell you about his competitive spirit,” McElroy said.
McElroy is an analyst for the SEC Network. Hurd has not yet announced where he will be transferring. Butch Jones confirmed the news yesterday that the former 5-star running back would be leaving the program. Hurd is the Volunteers sixth all-time leading rusher.
Tennessee has a good chance to end its three-game losing streak this Saturday, as it takes on Tennessee Tech.
