KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Tennessee basketball took another gut punch Wednesday night, losing at home to South Carolina 70-60 in one of the more unimpressive games of the season.
Both the Vols and the Gamecocks turned the ball over 22 times, and Tennessee made just 1-of-11 shot attempts beyond the 3-point line in falling to 8-8 overall, and 1-3 in league play.
Robert Hubbs lll, the only senior on the team, did everything he could to help his team, but the program continued to let him down.
Hubbs, however, continued to maintain a positive outlook moving toward Saturday’s game at Vanderbilt.
“We have the talent; it’s right there,” Hubbs said. “We just have to put it all together and find away to have more energy coming into the game.”
Coach Rick Barnes was the first to admit he “didn’t enjoy watching our team play” against South Carolina.
