KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Although training camp is quickly approaching, Tennessee coach Butch Jones continues to make hay on the recruiting trail this summer.
The Volunteers landed Thompson Station (Tenn.) Independence wideout Kendrell Surry on Tuesday evening — their first commit in the Class of 2019.

The 6-foot-3, 185-pound receiver earned a UT offer in late April and is considered a future Top 100 recruit, per 247Sports. Curry is rated as a 4-star prospect according to Scout.com.
In the last week, Tennessee has landed five 2017 commits — defensive tackles Breyon and Brandon Gaddy, athlete CJ Cotman, quarterback CJ Lewis and receiver Jordan Murphy — and a late 2016 signee, defensive end Mykelle McDaniel.
