KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Tennessee’s revolving training room door will continue to spin this week.
Alvin Kamara and Cam Sutton made triumphant returns on Saturday vs. Kentucky, but safety Todd Kelly Jr. and offensive lineman Dylan Wiesman left the action with injuries.
Jones didn’t provide updates on the status of Kelly Jr. or Wiesman, both of whom appeared to suffer lower body injuries in the first half of the 49-36 win over the Wildcats at Neyland Stadium.
Offensive tackle Chance Hall, who was questionable leading up to the game, didn’t play because of the knee injury he’s been dealing with this season and remains an uncertainty the remainder of the year.
On the positive side, Kamara and Sutton weren’t the only players to return.
Safety Micah Abernathy returned to the starting lineup and led the team with 10 tackles after missing the past two starts because of a hamstring injury.
Cornerback Malik Foreman also returned from injury after missing the previous three games with a shoulder injury. Foreman made 4 tackles and has a pass breakup.
Safety Stephen Griffin, who has been dealing with an ankle injury throughout the season, replaced Kelly in the game and came up with a key forced fumble at the Vols’ 4-yard line.
Tennessee hosts Missouri at 3:30 p.m. ET this coming Saturday in a game with SEC East Division implications.
If Florida loses at LSU on Saturday, the Vols can win the division and a trip to the SEC championship game by defeating the Tigers and then Vanderbilt next Saturday.
