A familiar face for Tennessee could become the Volunteers’ next athletic director soon.
Former Vols coach Phillip Fulmer reportedly is close to being named to the top position, as reported by John Brice of 247Sports late Monday night. Fulmer went 152-52 with a national title in his time at Tennessee from 1992 to 2008. Current athletic director Dave Hart is set to retire this summer.
Shortly after the news broke, Twitter users responded to the development in interesting ways. Below is a sampling of the reactions:
lol Tennessee takes 7 months in the Athletic Director search and might end up with Phillip Fulmer. Bama, Florida did it right. Vols… WOW?

Fulmer brought us our last NC. I have a great feeling about this. Go Vols man

Fulmer is about to be our next AD. Let's ride. pic.twitter.com/XS3j2Pn8iI

@Charlie_Burris I just don't see why people want Fulmer to be ad. He has no experience running a multi million dollar business.
