Kirk Herbstreit gave praise to former Tennessee quarterback Tee Martin on Monday, writing that the Volunteers hiring Martin would “be a great move by the Vols.”
The noted ESPN analyst shared dialogue with a fan on Twitter who asked him about Martin, following Herbstreit’s comment that he’s excited about the potential of former Nebraska quarterback Scott Frost returning to Lincoln to lead the Cornhuskers.
Herbstreit was complimentary of Martin, who’s currently the offensive coordinator at USC.
Just out of curiosity, would you like the same for Tee Martin at Tennessee or would you just like Tennessee to continue its downward spiral no matter what?

Love Tee. His success at USC as an OC and background experience at UT as an outstanding player make him a very logical pick. Be a great move by the Vols. https://t.co/ommlAvNue5

It’s unknown where Tennessee will turn after the Greg Schiano episode on Sunday, but Martin would be an intriguing choice. He has served as the Trojans’ offensive coordinator since 2016. Before then, he worked as an offensive assistant at New Mexico and Kentucky.
Earlier Monday, a report surfaced from Sports Illustrated’s Bruce Feldman that Martin has a “legit shot” to end up at Tennessee. It will be worth watching if more momentum builds for Martin to return to Knoxville.
