It seems all but certain Jon Gruden will become the next head coach of the Oakland Raiders. It appears ESPN will need another body in its Monday Night Football booth to replace Gruden as an analyst.
While Peyton Manning probably wouldn’t drop as many “Spider 2 Y-Banana” references, it appears Las Vegas likes him to replace Gruden.

It at least makes some sense that Manning would do well in the job. He’s well-spoken and certainly one of the brightest minds to ever play the quarterback position.
The decision truly comes down to Manning’s wishes. Will he stay in a cushy job doing commercial spots? He has also been floated for potential ownership of another team.
He’s certainly comfortable in front of a camera, but live analysis is another beast. He would fit in the role of former quarterbacks doing the job. Terry Bradshaw, Phil Simms, Boomer Esiason and Troy Aikman all have roles on television already.
