Trees down around campus, lakes overflowing everywhere and employees at The University of Florida are likely to have concerns other than a football game.
There were plenty of reasons to delay or cancel Tennessee’s game with Florida on Saturday in Gainesville. While it will go on as scheduled, the victims of Hurricane Irma will be on everyone’s minds including the Volunteers’.

While they’ll line up across from each other, the game is in the back of the minds of many who are cleaning up the damage around the state. The Volunteers certainly didn’t have to show any empathy for their opponent, but it should be commended they decided to put a “Florida Strong” helmet sticker alongside the jersey number and the American flag.
Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m. ET on CBS from Ben Hill Griffin Stadium.
