Is Appalachian State as good as Tennessee fans would like to believe?
In spite of being a heavy favorite in the Week 1 meeting, Tennessee narrowly escaped with an overtime victory over the Mountaineers at Neyland Stadium. While it frustrated many of the Vols faithful, many found solace in the fact that Appalachian State won 11 games in 2015 and may be carrying over its strong performance to the 2016 season.
Today’s game against Miami, which is being played on Mountaineers turf in Boone, N.C., has been all Hurricanes in the early going. Miami marched out to a 21-0 lead in the first quarter, and holds a comfortable 24-3 lead at halftime.
Meanwhile, Tennessee is again struggling early against a nonconference opponent as the Vols host Ohio at Neyland Stadium.
Tennessee fans are watching the outcome of the Miami vs. Appalachian State game, and they aren’t pleased with what they are seeing:

Not looking good for the Vols rn with Miami blowing App State out

And if the Vols fans are too busy watching their team play against Ohio, there seem to be friendly fans of opposing teams hanging around to remind them of how things are going in Boone:
Hey Vols, tell me how good this App State team is that y'all squeaked by on a OT fumble

Given how Tennessee struggled with App State at home, Miami’s head coach is probably too good for the SEC East. pic.twitter.com/31kuhN80y9

Tennessee is struggling with Ohio. Meanwhile Miami destroys app state. Tennessee is all hype no substance
