One of Tennessee’s targets for the class of 2018 is dealing with a major tragedy this week.
Stephanie A. Coleman, mother of 4-star DT D’Andre Litaker, died in a car crash Tuesday afternoon. According to the Knoxville News Sentinel’s Natalie Neysa Alund, Coleman died in a two-vehicle wreck on Interstate 65 in Tennessee. She was 42.
“The Riverdale program and coaches and players are here to support Dre during this difficult and tragic time,” Riverdale coach Will Kriesky told the News Sentinel Wednesday. “Our parents are putting things together to help support the family. We’d ask for prayers for the family as they go through this difficult situation.”
All three people involved in the crash were reportedly wearing seat belts. Litaker’s 13-year-old sister was injured in the wreck. She is reportedly at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
The driver of the other car was also hospitalized with unspecified injuries.
Litaker plays football at Riverdale (Tenn.) High in Murfreesboro. He has offers from Tennessee, Georgia, Alabama, Auburn and Forida.
