KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Peyton Manning returned the University of Tennessee on Friday to present four academic scholarships.
Manning addressed the scholars in the football locker room and gave some Rocky Top advice.
“If you do everything in your power to give your all for Tennessee every day,” Manning said. “Today will be just one of many landmark days for you. You’ll represent the spirit of the Volunteer to the best of your ability.”
Emma Kate Hall, Grace Neiman, Sydney Peay and Blake Turpin will forever have a link with Manning and will likely never forget the day they met him.
The Peyton Manning Scholars gave a thankful speech upon receiving the award.
The two-time Super Bowl champ has sponsored the scholarship for 20 consecutive years. The scholarship began with one student each year, but for the third year in a row, four students will receive the scholarship.
There are now 33 Manning Scholarship recipients.

Another stop on Manning’s busy Friday was to help dedicate the new dining hall on campus in Stokely Hall.
He helped dedicate the dining hall to his friends Carmen and Deborah Tegano for their hours of service over the years to the school.
Carmen Tegano worked in the athletics since 1985 and Deborah Tegano had been a teacher and researcher for 22 years.
