If you were wondering if Peyton Manning’s cunning affability had disappeared in his retirement, worry not.
The former Tennessee quarterback appeared on the Comedy Central Roast of Rob Lowe, which airs on Monday (Labor Day). Manning joined fellow roasters Jewel, actor Pete Davidson, comedian Nikki Glaser, actor Rob Riggle, comedian Jeffrey Ross, actor Ralph Macchio and roast master David Spade.
And he delivered one of the best zingers of the night, per TMZ. Although, it was directed at conservative pundit Ann Coulter, another roaster there for reasons unknown.

“I’m not the only athlete up here,” Manning said. “As you know, earlier this year, Ann Coulter won the Kentucky Derby.”
Although the roast was intended for Lowe, Coulter took the brunt of it.
Manning took it as well as he dished it. As customary in roasts, Lowe took the stage last and returned some of the shots, including at Manning, whom he incorrectly tweeted four years ago would be retiring.

“Peyton Manning is a two-time Super Bowl champion and a Hall of Famer but it didn’t give him a big head,” Lowe said. “That came from years of inbreeding.”
There will be plenty more on Comedy Central Monday night. Catch the entire roast at 1 a.m. ET.
