There was a stir created late on Saturday night when a report emerged that Tennessee had contacted Les Miles about potentially being the next coach at Tennessee.
But that appears to not entirely be the case. At least according to Ross Dellenger of the Advocate, who says he received a text from Miles saying, “No real news.”
Miles is 64 years old and has not coached since being fired by LSU last season. Tennessee has run through a number of candidates for the job but does still not have its next coach. The school suspended athletic director John Currie on Friday and named Phillip Fulmer acting athletic director.
Tennessee went 4-8 this year, its first 8-loss season in school history. Miles was replaced at LSU by Ed Orgeron, who led the Tigers to a 9-3 record this year. LSU finds out its bowl assignment for this year on Sunday.
