Friend, Sherrer and Rocker were all on Georgia’s staff in 2014 and were instrumental in recruiting a number of key players on the Georgia team that is set to play in the College Football Playoff against Oklahoma. Thompson spent three seasons at Alabama, including 2012, when Pruitt was the defensive backs coach.
Tennessee is expected to officially announce the hire on Thursday. Per another Low report, Pruitt is expected to remain as Alabama’s defensive coordinator through the College Football Playoff.
