Tee Martin reportedly received an interview for the Oakland Raiders’ recent head-coach opening.
On Monday, ESPN’s Josina Anderson reported that the former Tennessee quarterback and current USC offensive coordinator interviewed for the job. Of course, it was obvious before the Raiders made the news of Jon Gruden’s hiring official Saturday that the former ESPN employee was their top target for the position. Still, Oakland was required to interview minority candidates before making the Gruden hire official, per NFL rules.
Just so we close the loop–I was told the 2nd minority candidate the #Raiders interviewed for their head coaching position, before Jon Gruden was hired, was Tee Martin–USCs offensive coordinator/ wide receivers coach.

Martin played for Tennessee from 1996-99. He has worked at USC since 2014, most recently as the Trojans’ offensive coordinator the past two seasons.
Some tied Martin to Tennessee’s former head-coach opening before Alabama defensive coordinator Jeremy Pruitt was hired. As reported by SEC Country’s Mike Griffith, Martin and Volunteers athletic director Phillip Fulmer spoke with Martin during a “positive” conversation about a possible coaching position with the Vols.
