Peyton Manning reportedly will play an important part in choosing Tennessee’s next athletic director.
As reported by Jimmy Hyams of WMNL on Tuesday night, the former Vols quarterback is part of a six-person search committee that will select Tennessee’s next athletic director.

It makes sense that Manning would be asked to give his opinion on the matter. After all, it could be argued that he’s one of the most visible former Tennessee athletes ever. And given his long history in the NFL, the newly retired Manning knows a thing or two about what makes good business in the sports industry.
Given the Phillip Fulmer rumors, it would be interesting to find out what Manning thinks of his former coach possibly becoming the Vols’ next athletic director.
Good for Tennessee officials to tap into Manning’s knowledge for this situation.
