Tennessee now has Phillip Fulmer leading its coaching search. And it appears the Vols may be going after a name many SEC fans are familiar with.
According to a report from Grant Ramey of 247Sports, Fulmer has made contact with Les Miles about the Tennessee job. It had been previously reported that Miles would be interested in the job if offered.
Miles is 63 years old and has not coached since being fired from LSU last season. He did lead the Tigers to a national title in 2007 and won the SEC in 2011.
Ramey also reports that USC offensive coordinator Tee Martin would be open to joining the Tennessee staff as a coordinator as well as an associate coach. Martin quarterbacked to Tennessee to the 1998 national title and is the offensive coordinator at USC.
Tennessee parted ways with Butch Jones last month and on Friday announced that John Currie was suspended. Tennessee has whiffed on a number of coaches in the coaching search so far.
