Cameron Sutton’s decision whether or not to forgo his final season of eligibility and enter the NFL draft keeps getting more difficult, according to a recent report by Jimmy Hyams of WNML.
“Vols CB Cam Sutton might turn pro, but my sources with NFL connections told me he has a third-round grade. One had him late 2nd round,” Hyams stated via his Twitter account on Thursday.
Sutton was thought to be a first-round pick midway through the season, possibly as high as the middle of the first round. Then, Sutton struggled in the second half of the season at times, most notably against Alabama freshman receiver Calvin Ridley.
Sutton could still turn pro, but there doesn’t seem to be nearly as much guaranteed money as was possible in the past. Sutton isn’t the only Tennessee underclassman exploring his options. Junior linebacker Jalen Reeves-Maybin and redshirt sophomore Alvin Kamara also entered their paperwork into the NFL Draft Advisory Board.
