Tennessee reportedly will be without standout kick returner Evan Berry the rest of Saturday afternoon against Texas A&M.
Rocky Top Insider reported that trainers have taken Berry’s helmet and that he’s not expected to play the rest of the game. At the time of the report, the Volunteers were trailing 21-7 at Kyle Field.
Including the 2 kick returns from Saturday, Berry, a first-team All-SEC pick by the coaches as a specialist in 2015, is averaging 28.1 yards per return this season. He also was starting in the Vols’ defensive backfield with Micah Abernathy dressed, but being held from a starting role because of an injury.
Looks like the trainers have taken Evan Berry’s helmet. Don’t expect to see him again today.

Check out the play where the injury happened below. The hit on Berry during the return doesn’t look pretty.
