Tennessee took another hit on Thursday in what has already been a difficult season in Knoxville.
The Volunteers have suspended freshman defensive end Mykelle McDaniel according to John Brice of 247Sports.
UT, through spokesman Ryan Robinson, issued the following statement to 247Sports:
“Mykelle is being disciplined and will not be practicing with the team leading up to the bowl game,” Robinson said. “He is expected to rejoin the football program for the start of the spring semester.”
McDaniel had already redshirted this season and had a midseason surgery. He was a late addition to the Volunteers 2016 recruiting class. The 6-foot-4, 240-pound lineman was a three-star recruit out of Logansville, Georgia according to his 247Sports composite ranking. He had multiple other Division I offers such as South Carolina, Oklahoma, Ole Miss and Georgia.
