Tennessee’s Kwe Parker has reportedly asked for a release from his scholarship with an intent to transfer.
According to a report from Grant Ramey of 247Sports, the freshman point guard is on his way out of Knoxville after just one season with the Vols.
Parker averaged just 1 point and 8 minutes per game in 25 contests for the Vols. He is a former 3-star recruit. He is from Fayetteville, N.C., and he was North Carolina’s No. 5 player in the 2016 recruiting class. Parker also was the No. 33 point guard and No. 173 overall player in that class, per the 247Sports composite rankings.
Before signing with Tennessee, Parker was a Rutgers commitment. Parker’s intended destination is not yet known.
