Tennessee has tabbed Larry Scott to coach its tight ends, the university announced Monday.
Scott would replace tight ends coach Mark Elder, who recently left the Vols to become Eastern Kentucky’s head coach. Elder coached tight ends and was the special teams coordinator for the Vols before his departure.
Scott was the interim coach throughout the remainder of the season after Miami fired Al Golden in October. He helped the Hurricanes win four of the last five regular-season games to reach a bowl game. Before that, Scott coached tight ends and was the run game coordinator for the Hurricanes.
