Alex Jones had never seen his dad, Butch, beat Florida since the elder Jones became Tennessee’s head coach in 2013.
It had been even longer than that since the Volunteers beat the Gators. Eleven straight meetings, in fact.
So when the Vols were rallying back after an abysmal first half on Saturday, Alex, a redshirt freshman, wanted to give his teammates a little look.

Jauan Jennings scored on the play, and Tennessee went on to beat Florida for the first time since 2004 with a 38-28 victory.
Alex Jones didn’t mind taking credit for the go-ahead score, either.
