Cameron Wynn said his recruiting is picking up steam shortly after visiting Tennessee.
The 2019 athlete prospect from Notre Dame High School (Chattanooga, Tenn.) told SEC Country that he’s considering a visit to Clemson after recent interest from the Tigers. Wynn said he’s also receiving interest from Cincinnati and North Carolina.
While those schools are still evaluating Wynn, Tennessee is the lone school to extend a scholarship offer to Wynn, doing so in March.
“It was a real big deal for me,” Wynn said of the offer.
Wynn returned the favor with a trip to see the Vols during Tennessee’s practice in Neyland Stadium on Saturday.
“It went great,” the 5-foot-11, 170-pound prospect said. “It was a good tour.”
Wynn knows Tennessee well. He’s been to Knoxville several times, and Chattanooga is approximately a 90-minute drive from Tennessee’s campus. However, he said he didn’t grow up rooting for the Vols, even though his mother was always a fan.
“I watched them,” Wynn told SEC Country. “I didn’t dislike them or anything. I know they’re coming up this season and getting better.”
Wynn said Tennessee is recruiting him as a receiver. He said he’d prefer to play college football close to home.
“I have a lot of family in Tennessee that can come and watch the games,” Wynn said.
Likewise, Wynn is a high school underclassman worth keeping an eye on.
