Tennessee is nearly a 10-point favorite to beat No. 13 Northwestern in the Outback Bowl on Jan. 1, according to Vegas Insider. The Vols ended the regular season at No. 23 in the College Football Playoff rankings after finishing with five consecutive wins.
The Vols opened up as a nine-point favorite over the Wildcats, who are 10-2. Tennessee is 8-4.
Northwestern began and ended the season with five-game winning streaks. The Wildcats lost back-to-back games at Michigan and at home against Iowa by a combined 78-10 score in mid-October.
Tennessee finished the season with its most wins since 2007. The Vols’ current five-game winning streak is the longest since 2010.
