KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Tennessee’s basketball win over Florida had a lively crowd that was amped up by the presence of Vols legend Chris Lofton and NBA player Josh Richardson.
Other former Tennessee standouts were on hand, too, including Jordan McRae, Bobby Maze and Ron Slay.
Slay, always animated and a fan favorite during his UT career (1999-2003), made it a point to follow up after the game with an amusing social media post after the Vols beat the rival Gators.
They had every oppurtunity to leave here safely after shootaround, but these fools showed back… https://t.co/NkSBZ4qFks

“This is for Florida, I don’t know what y’all were thinking, but this wasn’t the party for y’all to be at,” Slay said in his Instagram post. “Y’all had every opportunity after shootaround to get back on that bus and make your way to the airport and get out of here unscathed.
“But what did you want to do? After shootround after allowing y’all to get a couple sandwiches, y’all want to come back in here for a main course. Foolish.
“Then you get disrespected. (Admiral) Schofield put you in the boom boom room, and Grant (Williams) put you in the boom boom room, and then (Jordan) Bowden come form outside the lane and then humped down in the ‘Ah you get’ stance’
“Make it home safe, Florida, make it home safe.”
Slay was honored as Tennessee’s legend at last year’s SEC Tournament and appears each Tuesday morning from 7 a.m to 8 a.m. on Knoxville’s WNML radio
