Tennessee will head to Hawai’i in late November for the prestigious Maui Invitational. The Volunteers’ path will not be easy though.
Tennessee will take on one of the heavy hitters in the tournament in Wisconsin on Nov. 21 at 2:30 p.m. Eastern Time on ESPN2.

It is a loaded tournament field, as the Maui Invitational always is. North Carolina and UConn are national powers. Oregon is also a strong team. The Volunteers will have to score some upsets to win this tournament.
It still should bring some nice exposure as Rick Barnes takes over for the Volunteers for his second season.
The Vols struggled last year and the Badgers seem to be licking their chops after a strong season last year. Tennessee finished 15-19 and 6-12 in the SEC last year. They finished 12th in the conference. They were rated 115th in the country by KenPom at the end of the season. The Badgers finished No. 33 in that rating system.
Tennessee is actually the lowest rated team in the field based on last year’s KenPom ratings.
Barnes will have to build his program up quickly to compete in this tournament.
