Tennessee football lands commitment from Alabama OLB Matthew Flint

Tennessee football receives a commitment

Tennessee has searched for an outside linebacker from the Class of 2018 for awhile and finally secured one Wednesday.

Gurley, Ala., native Matthew Flint announced his commitment to the Vols via Twitter.

Flint last visited Knoxville for Orange Carpet Day on June 17. Tennessee offered Flint on April 15.

Flint’s commitment further validates Coach Butch Jones’ approach to a non-pressured Orange Carpet Day. The commitments didn’t come that day, but have steadily come in throughout the summer.

The 6-foot, 213-pound Flint rates as a 3-star prospect and the No. 51 outside linebacker in the Class of 2018, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings.

The Alabama linebacker head other SEC offers from Auburn, Mississippi State and Ole Miss.
