KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — One of Tennessee’s rising stars is on display via the Vols’ video highlights from Saturday’s closed practice.
Darrell Taylor, a 6-foot-4, 240-pounder expected to challenge Kyle Phillips for a starting job at defensive end, was mic’d up for the workout, which included scrimmage action and one-on-one drills.

Other Tennessee players seen in the video in the heat of hitting drills and the scrimmage:
• Freshman Trey Smith
• Senior Jashon Robertson
• Sophomore Tyler Byrd
• Sophomore Maquez Callaway
• Sophomore Marcus Tatum
• Senior Justin Martin
Vols coach Butch Jones said it would be a more physical spring session with wide-open competition at most positions, and he certainly seems intent on backing that up.
