KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Tennessee didn’t have any players off Team 121 selected to the 2017 SEC Media Days first-team released on Friday.
Vols’ senior offensive lineman Jashon Robertson and return specialist Evan Berry made the second-team.
Robertson made the Outland Trophy watch list earlier this week, drawing recognition as a candidate for the award which goes to the best interior lineman.
Wide receiver Jauan Jennings and punter Trevor Daniel were selected as third-team picks. Daniel made the preseason Ray Guy Award watch list, and Jennings had 40 receptions for 580 yards and seven touchdowns last season.
Tennessee defensive end Derek Barnett was the only first-team All-SEC player selected by the coaches last season, with Berry and departed QB Josh Dobbs getting second-team honors.
Alabama set a record this year with 10 players earning preseason first-team All-SEC honors, according to the media vote.
Media members cast their ballots and throughout the week at SEC Media Days, which ended Thursday at the Wynfrey Hotel in Hoover, Ala.
Tennessee opens its season on Sept. 4 against Georgia Tech in Atlanta.
