Hill (Bob Jones/Madison, Ala.) said he plans to attend the Orange and White spring game on Saturday. This will be his first Neyland Stadium game-like experience, and that’s a big part of what he wants to see this weekend.
“Really just the atmosphere,” Hill told SEC Country. “Just see how it is. I’m not really looking to get anything out of it. I just want to see how it is and if I fit in there. Stuff like that.”
The 6-foot, 185-pound Hill visited in early March before he had received an offer from Tennessee. The facilities stood out to him. He said he knows what Tennessee has to offer, and now it’s time for the Vols to put in just a little more effort for Hill.
South Carolina has shown him a little more “love,” and that’s what has given the Gamecocks the slight edge. Hill took a visit to Columbia, S.C., on March 31 and the coaching staff stood out to him.
“I like their atmosphere,” Hill said. “I like coach [Will] Muschamp and coach [Travaris Robinson]. Feel like they are great coaches. Coach T-Rob’s past with DBs, like his history, I like. He’s really good with defensive backs.”
Hill said he will cut down his list sometime in early May with a decision to come in July.
The 247Sports Crystal Ball gives South Carolina a 67 percent chance of gaining Hill’s commitment. A solid visit and slightly more communication from cornerback coach Terry Fair could swing that in Tennessee’s favor.
