KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — The scoreboard didn’t tell the whole story Saturday afternoon in Neyland Stadium, but it did provide some hints about the future of Tennessee football.
The No. 23-ranked Vols (2-0) are scheduled to play at No. 24-ranked Florida (0-1) at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, with a share of the SEC East Division lead on the line.
Tennessee has shown promise through two games, but we’ve also learned the Vols have plenty to work on.
Indeed, none other that Coach Butch Jones declared Tennessee has to “get better in a hurry.”
The Vols’ injury situation has been alarming, as the team’s top returning playmaker, receiver Jauan Jennings, has been sidelined by wrist injury.
It’s the same on defense, where talented middle linebacker Darrin Kirkland Jr. suffered a season-ending knee injury in August.
WNML’s Josh Ward and SEC Country’s Mike Griffith discuss what we’ve learned about Tennessee’s Team 121 through two games this season.
