KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — With Tennessee tailback Alvin Kamara possibly on the shelf for an extended period of time, sophomore running back John Kelly could be primed for an increased workload the rest of the season.
The No. 18 Volunteers hope to use the bye week to get a number of players healthy, while also giving valuable practice reps to underclassmen like Kelly, Nigel Warrior, Tyler Byrd, Daniel Bituli, Kyle Phillips and others.
On Wednesday’s podcast, SEC Country’s Jesse Simonton and WMNL’s Josh Ward discussed Tennessee’s attrition list and the potential opportunity for newcomers to step up the rest of the season.
They also dished on Butch Jones’ frustrations with the media reporting injuries, as well as linebacker Jalen Reeves-Maybin talking about his legacy at Tennessee.
