KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Butch Jones has some ideas on how Tennessee can put the recent drama and negativity in its rearview mirror, and personnel decisions are only part of the equation.
The Vols (5-3) play host to FCS member Tennessee Tech (3-5) at 4 p.m. on Saturday in Neyland Stadium.
“Obviously everyone was very disappointed and rightfully so, and it’s like life, you have to pick up and improve on your deficiencies,” Jones said. “I’ve liked our players approach, we’ve had inspired practices.”
Sophomore tailback John Kelly looks to have a break-out game as he is expected to get the lion’s share of the work with Jalen Hurd no longer on the team and Alvin Kamara sidelined indefinitely by a knee injury.
SECcountry’s Mike Griffith and WNML’s Josh Ward discussed how the Vols are moving on and Kelly’s potential in greater detail in today’s podcast.
