KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Former Tennessee tailback Jalen Hurd has broken his silence on his pending transfer, confirming that the style of offense was indeed part of the reason he had been contemplating leaving the Vols for some time before finally pulling the trigger on Oct. 31.
Tennessee’s football team put the potential distraction behind them Saturday night, scoring a 55-0 homecoming win over Tennessee Tech at Neyland Stadium.
The victory was not without its costs, as safeties Even Berry and Micah Abernathy suffered injuries, forcing true freshman Nigel Warrior into significant action.
Warrior could start next Saturday’s game against Kentucky if Abernathy’s hamstring issues continue to flare up.
SECcountry.com’s Mike Griffith and WNML’s Josh Ward discuss the Hurd situation as well as updating the injuries in Monday’s podcast.
