KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Today’s daily Tennessee football podcast looks at John Currie’s introductory press conference as the Vols’ new athletics director.
Currie spoke about his desire to win championships, continue academic excellence and listen and learn from past legends at Tennessee.
“This is a very special place, and people have poured their heart and soul into the place,” Currie said Thursday.
“You just have to spend some time and appropriately honor, recognize and be around folks and those things will work themselves out.”
Later in the podcast, Ward and Simonton discuss chancellor Dr. Beverly Davenport’s comments Thursday, as well as Peyton Manning’s influence and role in the athletics director search. Can Manning help Currie repair relationships with former Vols such as coach Phillip Fulmer?
