Tennessee received its biggest recruiting battle win under coach Jeremy Pruitt on Tuesday. Now the Vols will look to parlay that win into something more.
WMNL’s Josh Ward and SEC Country’s Blake Morgan break down the next moves for Tennessee on the recruiting trail.
The offensive line has potential to be an elite haul in the 2019 cycle. Tennessee has added Wanya Morris to 4-star guard Jackson Lampley. The coaching staff has made 5-star tackle Darnell Wright a priority. Tennessee likely will take five linemen in the hopes of hitting the reset button at the position. Morris and Lampley are solid building blocks.
The staff will continue to thoroughly scout every position to make sure prospects fit what the team needs. Look for the staff to reshuffle the board in June and make decisions about who they want. The Vols will host some important camps and will use them to properly evaluate prospects.
Ward also discusses Jason Witten’s NFL career with the Dallas Cowboys. There also is some audio from the former Tennessee star’s announcement. Ward also mentions Georgia coach Kirby Smart’s contract extension and what it means for the SEC East.
