KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Tennessee’s SEC East Division hopes vanished, but the Vols Sugar Bowl hopes are alive.
First things first, Tennessee (8-3, 4-3 SEC) would have to beat Vanderbilt (5-6, 2-5) on Saturday in Nashville for any of the Sugar Bowl talk to be relevant.
The Vols beat Missouri 63-37 on Saturday despite allowing 420 yards rushing and a school-record 740 total yards.
The run defense has been an issue, but that’s where Jonathan Kongbo’s move inside to defensive tackle could play a positive role.
All that and more was discussed in Monday’s podcast with SECcountry.com’s Mike Griffith and WNML’s Josh Ward.
