KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Tennessee is in the midst of an extensive coaching search and it might be easy to forget there is still a game this weekend.
LSU comes to Neyland Stadium on Saturday and it presents a tough matchup for the Vols.
Tennessee has given up big plays on the ground all season. LSU has possibly the best running back to face the Vols this season in Derrius Guice. He has rushed for 929 yards and 9 touchdowns this season.
Tennessee has allowed 257 rushing yards per game this season.
It’s not going to be easy to change the trend in Tennessee’s favor.
Senior defensive tackle Kendal Vickers spoke on Tuesday about what allows LSU to do so well.
“LSU creates a bunch of problems too,” Vickers said. “They have a great o-line. They have two running backs that do a lot, and they have one of the best running backs in the nation. He creates a bunch of problems. We got to have a good preparation this week and we will be ready for the game.”
The Tigers have won four of their last five games with the only loss coming to Alabama. They have rounded into shape and it won’t be easy for the Vols to pull off the upset.
